BSE’s Monnet Qualifies for IHSA 1A State Track Meet after Sectional Wins

Brownstown-St. Elmo boys track and field thrower Trenten Monnet will compete in two events at the IHSA 1A State Track Meet next week after claiming the Sectional title in both throws events at the Altamont 1A Sectional on Wednesday. Monnet took first place in the Shot Put with a best toss of 54’ 9.5”, once again breaking his own school record in the event and took first place in the Discus with a best throw of 138’ 0.75”. Monnet was the Bombers only placer at the Sectional meet. The IHSA 1A State Meet will be held next week with the Prelims on Thursday, May 29 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
