Altamont softball has advanced to the Regional Championship game of the Windsor 1A Regional after shutting out CHBC 5 to 0 in the semifinals on Wednesday behind senior pitcher Grace Lemke’s sixth no-hitter of the season. The Lady Indians took a 3-0 lead in the first inning scoring on a passed ball and taking advantage of a CHBC error on a ground ball using heads up baserunning to score two more runs. In the second inning, with runners at second and third, Ella Nelson hit a line drive single to left field to score two runs and put Altamont up 5-0. Those five runs would be enough as the Lady Indians closed out the win to get to 19-9 on the season. Lemke finished the game striking out 20 of the 25 batters she faced in the game while offensively for the Lady Indians, Nelson finished the game driving in both at Altamont’s earned runs in the game. Altamont now advances to the title game where they will take on host Windsor/Stew-Stras in Friday at 4:30pm at Stewardson-Strasburg High School.
