South Central baseball wrapped up their regular season on Monday, suffered a 5-0 loss to Newton at home. The Eagles broke up a scoreless game in the top of the fifth inning with a pair of runs and tacked on three runs in the sixth inning for a 5-0 lead over South Central, The Cougars were held to just three hits in the game , all coming from the bottom part of the order, as they were held scoreless across the seven innings. With the Monday loss, South Central drops to 11-12 on the season and will open up postseason play on Wednesday in their own 1A Regional as they will take on Bridgeport Red Hill at 7:00pm in the second semifinal game with the winner going to Saturday’s Championship game.
