Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball couldn’t overcome an early deficit as they suffered a 5 to 2 loss at Cisne in the quarterfinals of the South Central 1A Regional o Monday. The Bombers fell into a 3-0 hole in the first inning, but cut that deficit down to 3-1 with a run in the top of the second inning. The Lions pushed their lead over BSE out to 5-1 in the bottom of the second inning and after a scoreless third inning, the Bombers answered with another run to cut it to 5-2. The next three innings went by scoreless as the game’s offense slowed and BSE was unable to put a comeback together and overcome the early deficit. The Bombers end their season at 8-15.
