Altamont Jr. High Boys/Girls Track With 5 Individual, 3 Relays Medalists at IESA 2A State Meet

Altamont Jr. High boys and girls track returned home from the IESA 2A State Track Meet in East Peoria with five individual medalists and three relay teams earning medals including a State Championship for the Girls 8^th grade 4×200 relay team. On the boys side of the meet, the Altamont 7^th grade boys had a strong showing in the meet as the 4×100 relay finished in 2^nd place and the 4×400 relay team took 5^th place. The 7^th grade Wildcats also had two medalists in the Pole Vault with Hayden Veteto taking 2^nd and Jackson Neu finishing in 5^th place. On the girls side, the 8^th grade girls 4×200 relay team claimed 1^st place in the 4×200 relay while 8^th grader Alyssa Ruholl took 2^nd in the 200m Dash and 7^th graders Kali Merritt and Payton Ort took 6^th and 7^th place, respectively, in the Pole Vault.

7^th Grade Boys 4×400 Relay (Hayden Veteto, Jackson Neu, Easton Caraway, Preston Kroening) – 5^th Place, 4:13.54

Hayden Veteto – 7^th Grade Boys Pole Vault – 2^nd Place, 10’ 4.25”

Jackson Neu – 7^th Grade Boys Pole Vault – 5^th Place, 8’ 9.5”

8^th Grade Girls 4×200 Relay (Cali Ruffner, Emerson Kuenstler, Baileigh Starnes, Alyssa Ruholl) – 1^st Place, 1:53.50

Alyssa Ruholl – 8^th Grade Girls 200m Dash – 7^th Place, 27.83 seconds

Kali Merritt – 7^th Grade Girls Pole Vault – 6^th Place, 6’ 2.75”

Payton Ort – 7^th Grade Girls Pole Vault – 7^th Place, 6’ 2.75”
