Altamont Jr. High Boys/Girls Track With 5 Individual, 3 Relays Medalists at IESA 2A State Meet


Altamont Jr. High boys and girls track returned home from the IESA 2A State Track Meet in East Peoria with five individual medalists and three relay teams earning medals including a State Championship for the Girls 8th grade 4×200 relay team. On the boys side of the meet, the Altamont 7th grade boys had a strong showing in the meet as the 4×100 relay finished in 2nd place and the 4×400 relay team took 5th place. The 7th grade Wildcats also had two medalists in the Pole Vault with Hayden Veteto taking 2nd and Jackson Neu finishing in 5th place. On the girls side, the 8th grade girls 4×200 relay team claimed 1st place in the 4×200 relay while 8th grader Alyssa Ruholl took 2nd in the 200m Dash and 7th graders Kali Merritt and Payton Ort took 6th and 7th place, respectively, in the Pole Vault.

7th Grade Boys 4×100 Relay (Preston Kroening, Draven Verdeyen, Easton Caraway, Hayden Veteto) – 2nd Place, 50.40 seconds

7th Grade Boys 4×400 Relay (Hayden Veteto, Jackson Neu, Easton Caraway, Preston Kroening) – 5th Place, 4:13.54

Hayden Veteto – 7th Grade Boys Pole Vault – 2nd Place, 10’ 4.25”

Jackson Neu – 7th Grade Boys Pole Vault – 5th Place, 8’ 9.5”

8th Grade Girls 4×200 Relay (Cali Ruffner, Emerson Kuenstler, Baileigh Starnes, Alyssa Ruholl) – 1st Place, 1:53.50

Alyssa Ruholl – 8th Grade Girls 200m Dash – 7th Place, 27.83 seconds

Kali Merritt – 7th Grade Girls Pole Vault – 6th Place, 6’ 2.75”

Payton Ort – 7th Grade Girls Pole Vault – 7th Place, 6’ 2.75”
