South Central’s entire lineup got in the action offensively as the Lady Cougars used a sixth inning surge to score nine runs and get themselves a 12 to 6 win over Dieterich on Thursday. After getting out to a 3-0 lead, the Lady Cougars cooled off a bit as Dieterich scored one fourth inning run and two sixth inning runs to tie the game up at 3-3. South Central bust the game open in the sixth inning though with seven of their 12 hits in the game coming in the inning and they scored nine runs to run ahead of the Maroons, 12-3. Dieterich put up a seventh inning fight and scored three more runs to cut the Cougars lead to 12-6, but that was all they got as South Central was able to close out the 12-6 win. The Lady Cougars are now 15-9 on the season and they are set to take on Lawrenceville at 11:00am on Saturday morning in the Olney Lady Tiger Classic.
