Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball tied the game up at 1-1 in the fifth inning, but a late offensive surge by Central A&M sank the Bombers in a 10 to 1 loss at home on Thursday. The Raiders scored first, taking a 1-0 run in the first inning. That lead held until the Bombers tied things up at 1-1 on a RBI single by Keelan Speagle. That tie didn’t hold long as Central A&M put up seven runs in the top of the sixth inning and another two unanswered runs in the seventh for a 10-1 lead. BSE was unable to counter in the bottom of the seventh and took the loss. Corey Hoopingarner went five strong innings for BSE giving up just one run on two hits while striking out four and walking just two batters. BSE is now 8-14 on the season and will play today at Ramsey.
