Vandalia baseball was held to just a pair of hits and one run in a 9 to 1 loss to North Clay at home on Tuesday. North Clay scored steadily over the first six innings, with two runs in the first inning, one in the fourth and three runs on both the fifth and sixth innings as they ran out to a 9-0 lead. Down to their last at bat, the Vandals led the bottom of the seventh inning off with a walk drawn by Adam Buscher and he advanced to third base after a pair of groundouts.
