Vandalia sophomore pitcher Mady McCall tossed a no-hitter as the Lady Vandals ran away from Ramsey for a 17 to 0 win on Tuesday. Vandalia got a first inning run for a 1-0 lead, but opened things up in second inning. Trading singles and walks, the Lady Vandals put seven runs on the scoreboard for an 8-0 lead. Vandalia was patient at the plate in the third inning, drawing five walks and one hit by pitch to go with a two RBI double to bring six more runs across the plate to push their lead to 14-0. Three hits led to three more runs in the fourth inning as Vandalia’s lead grew to 17-0 as they closed out the win by run rule. Vandalia is 7-16 on the season and will be right back in action today at home as they host Pana.
