Vandalia Boys Track Wins Ellis Invite


Vandalia boys track claimed first place at the Ellis Invite hosted by Altamont High School on Monday. The Vandals finished with 94 points, six points ahead of second place Altamont and almost 30 points ahead of third place Cumberland. The Vandals got first place event finishes from Ian Whitehead in the 400m Dash, Nic Jackson in the 800m Run and the 4×200 relay team of Jayden Hubler-Rench, Jordan Colburn, Paddy McDowell and Alex Burnam. The Vandals are now off for the next week as they prepare for the IHSA 1A Boys Sectional set for next Wednesday, May 21 at Altamont.

VANDALIA PLACING FINISHES:

First Place:

Ian Whitehead – 400m Dash, 51.14 seconds

Nic Jackson – 800m Run, 2:07.46

4×200 Relay (Jayden Hubler-Rench, Jordan Colburn, Paddy McDowell, Alex Burnam) – 1:37.30

Second Place:

4×100 Relay (Sam Bowers, Paddy McDowell, Jordan Colburn, Ian Whitehead) – 45.83 seconds

4×800 Relay (Cole Durbin, Dade Kleinik, Khaden Litaker, Nic Jackson) – 8:59.12

Third Place:

Jackson Wimberly – Pole Vault, 11’ 8.5”

Jayden Hubler-Rench – Long Jump, 19’ 1”

Ian Whitehead – Triple Jump, 35’ 9.5”

Fourth Place:

Ian Whitehead – 100m Dash, 11.69 seconds

Paddy McDowell – 200m Dash, 24.20 seconds

Sam Bowers – 110m Hurdles, 16.15 seconds

Lucas Bowers – High Jump, 5’ 8”
