Altamont softball outhit Hutsonville-Palestine, five hits to one hit, on Monday but suffered a tough 1 to 0 loss to the Tigers on the road. Altamont threatened to score in the top of the third inning, but two straight fielder’s choice outs caught the lead runner going to third base with the second one ending the inning and the Altamont scoring threat. The Tigers scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring on a Lady Indians error. With the 1-0 loss, Altamont is now 16-8 on the season and will have a quick turnaround as they play on the road again today at Dieterich.
