Lady Aces senior pitcher Lily Johnson went into Saturday’s Egyptian Illini Conference Tournament standing at 599 career strikeouts and didn’t need much time to record the two needed to reach and then surpass 600 career strikeouts. Johnson struck out the second and third CHBC batters she faced in Mulberry Grove’s first game of the tournament for #600 and #601 and ended that game with seven strikeouts to stand at 606. Johnson then struck out three Martinsville batters in the Aces second tournament game to move her career total up to 609. Johnson is the Mulberry Grove career strikeout leader and will have a chance to continue adding to that total in the Aces final week of the regular season this week with four games on tap before beginning postseason play on May 21 at home against Pawnee.
