Vandalia boys track and field claimed the South Central Conference Championship on Tuesday at Carlinville. The Vandals bested second place Litchfield by 12 points and finished 20 points ahead of third place Carlinville. Junior Kohnor Depew is a two event champion for the meet winning first place in both the 100m Dash and the 200m Dash while also taking third place in the high jump and was a member of the second place 4×100 relay team. Senior Ian Whitehead claimed the conference title in the 400m Dash while taking second place in the Triple Jump and anchoring the second place 4×100 relay team. Sophomore Sam Bowers was strong in the hurdles events with a second place 110m High Hurdles finish and a third place 300m hurdles finish. Sophomore Lucas Bowers place second in the High Jump, sophomore Nic Jackson took second in the 80m Run and freshman Jackson Wimberly took second place in the Pole Vault.
