Vandalia softball used steady offense to pull away from Ramsey for an 11 to 4 win on Tuesday. Ramsey got the scoring going as they went up 2-0 after the first inning. The Lady Vandals scored on a passed ball in the second to cut the Lady Rams lead to 2-1 and then tied things at 2-2 in the top of the third inning on a RBI triple from Bella Walk. Ramsey regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning, going up by a run, 3-2. That lead did not last long as Vandalia scored on a ground out and then brought another run in on a Ramsey error to take the 4-3 lead. They further edged the lead out to 5-3 with a RBI groundout from Rebekah Miller that scored Ollie Whitehead. Ramsey responded with one run in the bottom of the fourth, but Vandalia maintained the lead, 5-4. The Lady Vandals then scored six unanswered runs across the sixth and seventh innings to pull away for the 11-4 win. Vandalia moves to 5-13 on the season and will play at Litchfield on Thursday.
