Altamont girls track and field took second place at the National Trail Conference meet at Altamont on Tuesday, accumulating 76 points and finishing behind meet champion St. Anthony with 151 points and ahead of third place CHBC with 58 points. Senior Abby Weishaar was a double individual event champion, taking first place in the 100m and 200m Dash while also anchoring the NTC champion 4×100 relay team and taking second place in the 400m Dash. The Champion 4×100 relay team of Gabby Weishaar, Ada Roberts, Katie Tedrick and Abby Weishaar turned in a time of 52.43 seconds, coming up just .03 of the school record of 52.40 seconds. Senior Gabby Weishaar took second place in the 200m Dash while leading of the 4×100 team and anchoring the second place 4×200 team. Freshman Ada Roberts took second place in the Long Jump while running the second leg of the Champion 4×100 relay and leading off the second place 4×200 relay. The Lady Indians have just two meets remaining as they will host the Ellis Invite on Monday before competing in the IHSA Sectional at Newton on Wednesday, May 14.
