Altamont boys track and field repeated as the National Trail Conference Meet Champions led by senior and four event champion Ben Roedl as well as standout performances from junior pole vaulter Jacob Veteto as he beat the school record in the event, 200m champion Jacob Johnson, Shot Put champion Brock Wendling and relay wins in the 4×100 and 4×200. The Indians scored 172 points to finish well ahead of second place CHBC with 134 points and third place St. Anthony with 109 points. Roedl turned in Champion performances in his normal events of high jump, long jump and triple jump while adding in a conference title in the 100m Dash. Veteto turned in a height of 14’ 10’ to top the school record of 14’ 9” in the event that was held since 2018 by Tim Moore. After getting the rest of the week off, the boys will be right back at home on Altamont as they and the Lady Indians host the Ellis Invite meet.
