Altamont baseball was held to just a pair of hits as they were handed an 11 to 0 loss on the road at Father McGivney on Monday. The Griffins took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and trailing in the top of the second, the Indians got their first baserunner of the game after Brayden Schnarre was hit by a pitch but he was stranded on base to end the inning. Father McGivney tacked on three more runs in the second and third innings to go up 6-0 before Altamont got their offense moving just a bit of the top of the fourth inning. With one out, Cooper McManaway singled to right field and after the Indians got their second out, Dyson Wagner singled to center field and McManaway advanced to second to put the Indians first baserunner in scoring positions for the game. A fly out ended the half inning though and both runners were stranded. Father McGivney scored five runs in the bottom half of the inning for an 11-0 lead and Altamont put two runners on base again in the top of the fifth inning on a hit by pitch and a drawn walk, but the Indians again stranded two runners and the Griffins closed out the game, handing the Indians the 11-0 loss. Altamont drops to 15-6 on the season and will play at home today against Mulberry Grove.
