BSE Suffers Fourth Loss of Season at Nokomis

Brownstown-St. Elmo girls basketball suffered just their fourth loss of the season as they fell at Nokomis, 54 to 36, on Tuesday night. The Lady Bombers fell behind in the first quarter, 13-8, but would outscore Nokomis 14-12 in the second quarter to pull with two points at halftime as they trailed 25-22. BSE has trouble scoring in the third quarter though as they hit just shots from the floor and then went just 1 of 10 from the free throw line as they were outscored 15-5 in the quarter and trailed 40-27 heading to the fourth quarter. BSE was held to just one basket from the floor in the fourth quarter but would go 7 of 8 from the free throw line for nine points, but Nokomis’ 14 points in the quarter would put the game away for Nokomis as the Bombers suffered the 54-36 loss. BSE is now 24-4 on the season and will have another big matchup on Thursday as they will host St. Anthony in a game that will decide who is the regular season National Trail Conference Champion. The two teams met in the NTC Tournament Championship with BSE suffering the close 49-44 loss in that game.

BSE Scoring:

Dayana Haslett – 16 points

Madi Miller – 9 points

Addie Sasse – 4 points

Danika Ramsey – 4 points

Peyton Barker – 3 points
