St. Elmo-Brownstown boys basketball got their third win in a row, beating Martinsville, 52 to 38, in Egyptian Illini Conference action on Tuesday night. The Eagles would find themselves down by a slim margin, 18-17, at the end of the first quarter but a 13-7 second quarter run put them ahead 30-25 at halftime. SEB would be outscored by the BlueStreaks 9-6 in the third quarter, but the Eagles maintain a lead, 36-34, to start the fourth quarter. The final eight minutes of the game was all SEB as the Eagles outscored Martinsville 16-4 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 52-38 win. SEB moves to 9-7 overall on the season and to 2-0 in the EIC. They will be back in action tonight in a rare regular season Wednesday contest as they travel to Edinburg to take on Edinburg/South Fork.
