Vandalia Wrestlers Set to Battle at Abe’s Rumble with Pool Matches This Morning

Vandalia Wrestling will begin action at the Abe’s Rumble this morning at the Bank of Springfield Center in Springfield. The Vandals are the #2 ranked team in Class 1A by Illinois Matmen and this year’s Rumble will feature 17 of the top 25 ranked 1A teams. Vandalia is in Pool F beginning at 9:00am where they will take on Morrison in Round 1 and Mt. Zion in Round 2 with a Round 3 BYE before facing Westville in Round 4 and Illini Bluffs in Round 5. Another set of 6 pools will be in action in the afternoon before the top two teams from each pool and 8 wildcard teams will be put into the Championship bracket and eventually be broken into the Gold and Silver brackets while the 28 teams not making it to the Championship bracket will go into the Bronze and Copper brackets. The Vandals would wrestle again tonight if they are in the Championship bracket before resuming action on Saturday.
