CHBC knocks off Ramsey in Egyptian Illini Contest


The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats took an early lead and never looked back, defeating the Ramsey Rams 73-13 in the first Egyptian Illini Conference game between the two teams. CHBC got off to a hot start, outscoring Ramsey 24-4 after the first quarter. The Bobcats didn’t let off, as they once again outscored the Rams 20-4, to take a 44-8 lead going into the half. A 25-4 CHBC run in the third quarter, saw the Bobcats with a 69-12 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Bobcats would only manage 4 points, but held Ramsey to 1 point, to give them the 73-13 win. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 2-3 on the season, and 1-0 in EIC play. They will have their home opener on Tuesday when they host St. Anthony. For the Rams, the loss drops them to 0-6 on the season, and 0-1 in EIC play. They will have a quick turnaround on Saturday when they take on Edinburg at the Edinburg Shootout.
