Illinois football gets dramatic final seconds win at Rutgers


The Illinois Fighting Illini Football team got a dramatic final seconds win on the road at Rutgers on Saturday, 38 to 31.

With just seconds remaining and Rutgers leading 31 to 30, the Scarlet Knights called a time out to ice Illinois’ kicker before his 58 yard attempt.  But, Coach Bret Bielema decided against the field goal and went for it on 4th down.  What resulted with a Luke Altmyer to Pat Bryant 40 yard TD.

The Illini ended up with a 38 to 31 win to improve to 8-3 on the season.  They will wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they will take on Northwestern at Wrigley Field.
