IHSA Volleyball Postseason Starts Today; Six I70Sports Teams In Action in Regional Quarterfinals Tonight


The IHSA Volleyball postseason gets underway tonight with Regional action and six of our seven I70Sports area teams will be in action tonight with the remaining team beginning postseason play on Tuesday.

In Class 2A, #12 seed Vandalia will be at the Litchfield Regional where they will be taking on #5 seed Shelbyville in the second Quarterfinal game at 7:00pm tonight. The winner of that match will move on to face #4 seed Hillsboro in the second Semifinal match on Tuesday night at 7:00pm.

In Class 1A, four I70 teams have been assigned to the St. Anthony Regional with three of those teams in action tonight. At 6:00pm, #11 seed Altamont will face #2 seed Nokomis in the first Quarterfinal match followed by #6 seed St. Elmo-Brownstown and #8 seed South Central squaring off for the fourth time this season in the second Quarterfinal match at 7:00pm. The two winners will advance to the first Semifinal match on Wednesday night to face each other at 6:00pm.

Also in Class 1A, two area teams that are about 25 minutes apart will have to drive about twice that amount of time to face each other as Ramsey and Mulberry Grove are both assigned to the Mt. Olive Regional. The #12 seed Lady Rams and #13 seed Lady Aces will face off in the first Quarterfinal match at 6:00pm tonight. The winner will advance to the first Semifinal game on Wednesday where they will have to take on #1 seed Hardin Calhoun at 6:00pm.

On Tuesday, the final I70Sports area team will begin their postseason play as CHBC will be at the St. Anthony 1A Regional where the #10 seed Lady Bobcats will face the furthest traveling team to the Regional, #3 seed Carrollton, in the third Quarterfinal match at 6:00pm with the winner advancing to the Semifinals to face the winner of the St. Anthony and North Clay Quarterfinal match.
