Altamont Routs Tuscola in Big Road Win

Altamont baseball took care of business in a big way on their Tuesday road trip, shutting out Tuscola, 15-0, in six innings. Dillan Elam got the scoring started for the Indians in the top of the first inning with a one out solo home run and Nate Stuemke would score from first on a line drive single to right field by Ethan Robbins as the Indians held a 2-0 lead at the end of the first inning. An RBI single from Kaden Davis would score Clayton Arnold from second base in the top of the second as Altamont edged their lead out to 3-0. Stuemke led off the top of the third inning with a solo home run and back to back singles from Keegan Schultz and Robbins tacked on another run as the Altamont lead grew to 5-0. An RBI single from Arnold brought another run in and Davis got his second consecutive RBI single in as many at bats to push the lead to 7-0. In the top of the fourth inning, a single from Arnold scored Justin Magelitz and Eli Miller to extend the lead to 9-0 as the Indians were fully in control of the game. Altamont would have their only scoreless inning in the fifth but started rolling again in the sixth inning. Brayden Elam hit a lead-off single followed by a single from Robbins to put runners at first and second. D McCammon hit the third straight Indians single to score Elam for a 10-0 Altamont lead. With one out, Kade Milleville singled to score courtesy runner Will Reardon and after the Indians loaded the bases, Dyson Wagner singled to score McCammon and Milleville, pushing the lead to 13-0. Altamont’s final two runs of the game came in when B. Elam reached base on an error on a pop fly that allowed Magelitz and Wagner to score as the Indians lead reached 15-0.
