St. Elmo-Brownstown boys basketball opened up the second half of their season with a 69-47 win on the road over Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville on Tuesday night. Coming off of two losses to end the 2023 portion of their schedule followed by a week and a half off, the Eagles needed just a couple quarters to find their groove again. SEB outscored OPH 23-16 in the first quarter and held a 33-30 lead at halftime despite being outscored 14-10 in the second quarter. The Eagles would pull away in the third quarter using a 26-7 run over the eight minutes to push themselves out to a 59-37 lead. An even 10-10 fourth quarter would close out the game as SEB finished off the 69-47 win. SEB is now 11-3 on the season and will be in action at home on Friday when they host Windsor/Stew-Stras in a rematch of the Championship game of the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament just two and a half weeks ago when SEB beat the Hatchets 73-48.
