Altamont 7th Grade Boys Claim State Championship, Several Area Athletes Bring Home Hardware

Several area junior high track athletes have brought home hardware from the IESA 1A and 2A State Track Meet with the Altamont 7^th grade boys team bringing home the top spot with a 7-2A state championship team title. Altamont tallied 38 points to finish four points ahead of second place Decatur Our Lady of Lourdes and 12 points ahead of third place Brimfield and Carthage.

7^th grade Boys Team – 1^st Place

• Cooper McManaway: 400m Dash, 1^st Place (56.12 seconds); 800m Run, 1^st Place (2:09.14); 1600m Run, 2^nd Place (4:57.18); Shot Put, 1^st Place (41’ 1”)

8^th Grade Boys Team – 30^th

• Hayden Bridges: High Jump, 7^th Place (5’ 5”)
• Kaiden Wolff: Pole Vault, 4^th Place (9’ 0”)

• Reagan Kuenstler: 800m Run, 6^th Place (2:32.48)
