Vandalia High School will be looking for a new high school girls basketball head coach following the Vandalia School Board’s acceptance of the resignation of Michelle McNary during its meeting on Monday night. During its District Resignations portion of the agenda, McNary’s resignation was approved bringing an end to 14 years on the sidelines for the coach. The resignation also comes just a couple months after the first 20-win season for McNary. Vandalia High School girls basketball has had just two head coaches over the last 33 years as previous coach, the late Mike Butler, coached for 19 seasons before McNary took over the position.
