Vandals baseball outhit the Greenville on Thursday but could only push one run across as they fell 4-1 to the Comets in non-conference action. With the game being moved to Greenville from Vandalia due to field conditions, the Vandals would be the home team for the matchup after holding Greenville scoreless in the first, would get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first. Matthew Hagy would lead off the inning with a single and advance to third on a single to left field by Andrew Kelly. Reid Well would then groundout to third to score Hagy and put the Vandals up 1-0. Greenville would answer in the top of the second though, putting up four runs with the first three scoring on bases loaded walks as the Comets would take the lead 4-1. The Vandals would rack up six more hits in the game but neither they or the Comets would score anymore after the second inning as Greenville would take the 4-1 win. Vandalia is now 0-2 to start the season and is schedule to host Ramsey today.
