The IHSA has released the seeds and pairings for the 2022 IHSA Girls Softball postseason set to get underway in just about a week and half, on May 16.
In Class 2A, Vandalia and Greenville are both assigned to the Gillespie Sectional with Vandalia hosting one of four Regionals. Vandalia as the eight seed will host tenth-seeded Hillsboro at 4:30pm on Monday, May 16 with fifth-seeded Greenville hosting number 11 seed Litchfield on the same night at 4:30pm. The winner of Vandalia’s game will advance to the first regional semifinal game to take on 2nd seeded Newton at 4:30pm on Tuesday, May 17. The winner if the Greenville game will advance to the second semifinal game on Wednesday, May 18 at 4:30pm to take on third seeded Staunton. The regional championship game will then be at 4:30pm on Friday, May 20 at Vandalia’s Denny’s Field.
In Class 1A, Ramsey is a ten seed and will play in the Centralia Christ Our Rock Luther Regional. The Rams will be on the road to take on seventh-seeded New Athens at 4:30pm on Monday, May 16 with the winner advancing to the regional semifinals against second seeded Carlyle on Tuesday, May 17 at 4:30pm.
Also in Class 1A, Mulberry Grove, a five seed, will be on the Bunker Hill Regional and will take on third seeded Nokomis in the second regional semifinal game at 4:30pm on Wednesday, May 8 in Bunker Hill.
SEB, CHBC, South Central and Altamont have all been assigned to the South Central Regional. On Monday, May 16, tenth-seeded SEB will take on seventh seed CHBC at 4:30pm with the winner moving on to the semifinals against second seeded South Central on Tuesday, May 17 in Kinmundy. Altamont is a three seed and will face sixth seeded Clay City in the second semifinal game at 4:30pm on Wednesday, May 18 with the winner advancing to the regional championship game against the winner of the first semifinals game on Friday, May 20.
