The Greenville Lady Comets snapped a streak of three straight losses by picking up a 55-49 win over Christ Our Rock at home on Senior Night. Prior to Monday night’s game, seniors Alison Ridens, Abby Sussenbach, Brooklyn Suzuki and Mia Emken were honored.
In the game, Greenville got off to a strong start, taking a 17-6 lead by the end of the 1st quarter. Christ Our Rock would get going a bit in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Lady Comets 12-8, but Greenville would maintain a 25-18 lead at halftime. Greenville would take a 16-13 scoring advantage in the 3rd quarter and push their lead out to double digits, up 41-31 heading into the final quarter. Christ Our Rock would outscore the Comets in the 4th quarter, 18-14, but Greenville would hole on for the 55-49 win. Greenville is now 11-17 on the season. They are 3-2 in South Central Conference play which will dominate the remainder of their schedule as they wrap up the season with three straight conference opponents. The first will be Pana on Tuesday on the road. The game was originally set to be played on Thursday but has been moved up two days due to the expected winter weather that is forecast to move across much of the state midweek.
