Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City picked up a 69-58 overtime win over Ramsey to move into the 5th Place game and Windsor/Stew-Stras beat Cumberland Friday night to get to the Championship game of the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament.
In the consolation semifinal, CHBC got used a strong second quarter to turn a 4-point lead after the first quarter into a 13-point lead at halftime. CHBC pushed their lead to 47-31 by the end of the third quarter, but Ramsey mounted a late comeback, outscoring CHBC 24-8 in the fourth to tie the game up at 55-55 at the end of regulation. CHBC would outscore Ramsey in the overtime period though, 14-3, to pull out the win. CHBC moves into the 5th Place game on Saturday at 4:30pm where they will face Patoka-Odin. Ramsey will go to the 7th Place Game at 3:00pm where they will face Mulberry Grove.
In the championship semifinal, Windsor/Stew-Stras beat Cumberland, 46-32, to advance to the Championship game. WSS will face St. Elmo-Brownstown in the Championship game at 7:30pm on Saturday while Cumberland will move into the 3rd Place game against South Central at 6:00pm.
