(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs are making pay cuts to weather financial struggles caused by the shutdown of MLB’s season by the COVID-19 pandemic. Reports say employees in the baseball operations and business operations departments, as well as those with uniform employee contracts, will be affected by the salary reductions. That includes team President Theo Epstein and manager David Ross. Higher-salaried employees will receive cuts of up to 35-percent while the majority of the cuts are 20-percent or lower. The Cubs have told their employees there will be no furloughs at least through June.
