Gov Pritzker Criticizes MLB Players For Holding Out For More Money

(Undated)  —  Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is criticizing Major League Baseball players for holding out for more money during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.  Team owners on Monday approved MLB’s plan for an 82-game schedule beginning in early July and offered the players a 50-50 split of revenues.  However, players union executive director Tony Clark recently told The Athletic that they aren’t in favor of a proposed even split.  Pritzker said he’s disappointed players are holding out for very high salaries at a time when everybody is sacrificing.  He said he hopes the players understand baseball is an important part of the summer for the people of this country.
