(Las Vegas, NV) — The Super Bowl MVP is the odds-on favorite for the league’s most valuable player. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a four-to-one betting favorite to win his second regular-season MVP in the past three seasons, as per the Caesars Sportsbook in Las Vegas. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, last season’s MVP, is second at 13-to-two odds. The lowest odds for a non-quarterback is Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey at 40-to-one — but there are 11 signal-callers ahead of him.

(Undated) — The coronavirus pandemic is leading the American Hockey League to call it quits this season. The league says it’s canceling the rest of the regular season along with the Calder Cup playoffs. League President David Andrews said in a statement the move was made because finishing the season “is not feasible in light of current conditions.” There will be no champion this season, which is the first time that’s happened in the more than 80 years the AHL has been around.

(New York, NY) — NBA owners will have more time to decide whether to terminate the collective bargaining agreement. ESPN reports the league and players union have agreed to extend the deadline for possible termination to September due to COVID-19. Both sides hope to have a clearer picture by then.
