>>MLB Conference Call Today To Discuss Starting Season

(Undated)  —  MLB will hold a conference call with owners today to discuss its plan to start the season.  If they agree, The Athletic reports the league will submit its proposal to the union tomorrow.   A season of 78 to 82 games would start in early July, likely without fans.  The playoffs would be expanded to 14 teams.

>>MLB Employees Test Low For Coronavirus Antibodies

(Stanford, CA)  —  A Stanford University study finds a low percentage of MLB employees testing positive for coronavirus antibodies.  Only 60 of more than 57-hundred tested were positive.  The university’s professor of medicine tells ESPN that’s a lower rate than he expected and lower than similar studies in California.

>>”Shaq” Says NBA Should Scrap Season

(Undated)  —  One former NBA superstar feels the league should just call it a day and wait until next season to return.  Shaquille O’Neal tells USA Today that the league should just scrap the season and come back next year.  He said a team that won after a rushed return and altered playoff format wouldn’t be legit.

>>Zion Williamson Accused Of Receiving Impermissible Benefits

(Undated)  —  A lawsuit alleges that Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson received impermissible benefits while a student-athlete at Duke.  Williamson’s former marketing representative says Williamson and his parents received cash and other gifts from Adidas, Nike and Duke.  Williamson filed a lawsuit against the rep in June in order to terminate his marketing agreement with her company.

>>Alabama Football Losing Another Tagovailoa

(Tuscaloosa, AL)  —  The Alabama football program is losing another Tagovailoa [[ tung-oh-vy-LOH-ah ]].  Multiple reports say sophomore quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has entered the NCAA transfer portal and will leave the Crimson Tide.  Older brother Tua was drafted by the Miami Dolphins last month.
