>>Former NFL QB Jackson Dead After Car Crash

(Undated) — Former Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is dead following a car crash over the weekend.  According to NFL.com, the 36-year-old former NFL player died Sunday night in a single car crash in Alabama.  Minnesota drafted Jackson in the second-round draft in 2006 out of Alabama State and played nine seasons in the NFL.

>>Panthers’ McCaffrey Becomes NFL’s Highest Paid Running Back

(Charlotte, NC)  —  Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is signing a four-year, 64-million-dollar extension to make him the NFL’s highest paid at the position.  A one-thousand yard rusher in back-to-back seasons, he also caught 116 passes and scored 19 total touchdowns last season.  McCaffrey earned his first Pro Bowl nod this past season.

>>XFL Files For Bankruptcy, Will Not Return

(Undated)  —  The XFL has filed for bankruptcy and will not return for a 2021 season, according to paperwork filed Monday. The league saw mixed results since launching after the Super Bowl in February with many teams hosting crowds as high as 20-thousand people.  However, those numbers faded as the season went along.  Amid the pandemic, the league opted on March 12th not to finish its season.

>>NFL, Union Agree To Virtual Offseason Program

(New York, NY)  —  Just like next week’s draft, the NFL offseason will be virtual.  Multiple reports say the NFL and union have agreed to a deal that calls for voluntary virtual offseason programs to run from April 20th to May 15th.  Teams can video conference instruction with their facilities all shut down.

>>Larson Suspended Indefinitely For Using Racial Slur

(Undated)  —  NASCAR driver Kyle Larson is suspended indefinitely without pay after using a racial slur during an iRacing event on Sunday.  Larson apologized, but faced repercussions by both NASCAR and his racing team.  NASCAR issued a statement in part saying they have, “made diversity and inclusion a priority and will not tolerate [that] type of language.”
