The Lady Vandals fell in a close battle with Effingham, 44-42, on Wednesday at the Newton Thanksgiving Tournament. Vandalia got out to a 7-6 lead and increased that to 23-18 by halftime. Effingham outscored the Lady Vandals in the 3rd quarter to pull ahead 32-29 heading into the 4th. Vandalia was able to outscore the Hearts 13-12 in the quarter but it wasn’t enough as the Vandals fall 44-42.

The Lady Vandals are 0-2 on the season and in the tournament. They will play a double day on Friday taking on Flora at noon and then facing Altamont at 3:00pm.
