Greenville Drops Close Match to Staunton on Senior Night

The Greenville Lady Comets lost a close, hard fought battle to Staunton Thursday night 15-25, 24-26. Before the Varsity match, Lady Comet seniors Grace Baum, Chloe Macon, Rylee Pickett, Marissa Schaefer and Brenna Weiss were honored. In the match, Greenville bounced back after a rough end to the first set and took a 16-14 lead halfway through the set after a 7-3 run. The two teams matched each other point for point before a Greenville passing error and a Staunton kill ended the set.

Greenville is now 10-15 on the season. The Lady Comets Varsity team will play in the Freeburg Monster Mash on Saturday while the Lady Comets Fresh-Soph team will compete in the Pana Fresh-Soph Tourney on Saturday.
