The Lady Vandals volleyball team went 3-1 on the day and took 2nd place of their own Vandal Volleyball Tourney. Vandalia beat East Alton-Wood River 25-19, 23-25, 15-6 to open pool play and then defeated Lebanon 25-9, 25-11 and beat Robinson 25-21, 25-18 to earn their spot in the Championship match.
In the Championship match, the Lady Vandals lost in two close sets 22-25, 23-25.
The Lady Vandals are now 12-6 on the season and will play at Ramsey on Monday.
South Central Goes 2-2 to Take 5th Place
South Central lost to Carlyle in three sets 25-19, 7-25, 8-15 and Carterville 21-25, 16-25 before getting their first win of the day, beating Decatur Eisenhower 25-17, 25-18. In the 5th Place match, South Central got a dominating 25-16, 25-13 win over Lebanon.
South Central is now 9-5-1 on the season and will play at Windsor/Stew-Stras on Monday.
