The Lady Comets began their season at the Alton Doubles tournament on Saturday.placing 5th out of 8 competitive teams.Bradley Boubonnais won the tournament with Quincy Notre Dame, Rochester and host Alton high school close behind. Greenville finished ahead of Belleville Althoff, Collinsville and Roxana.
At #1 doubles Sarah Brannon/Heidi Summers lost to Quincy Notre Dame and then to Roxana.
At #2 doubles Danielle Brand/Kyra Wells fell to Bradley Bourbonnais and then Roxana.
At 3rd doubles Anna/Walker/Morgan Wilderman beat Roxana and lost to Alton and then fell short against Rochester in the match for 3rd place.
At #4 doubles Joely Dickenson/Mary-Kate Long lost to Alton then beat Collinsville and then lost in Consolation Finals to a combined doubles team of Katelyn Ridens from Greenville and Maddy Studdard from Bradley Bourbonais who teamed up as last minute substitutes in the #4 doubles flight and ended up as Consolation Finals champs.
At #5 doubles freshmen Haley Beckert/Paige Mathias took 4th place, losing to Bradley Bourbonnais in their match for 3rd place.
