The first week of high school football is fully underway as Vandals football has been at work since Monday morning preparing for the upcoming season and their opener on August 30. With several days of practice in already, Head Coach Jason Clay says the Vandals have hit the ground running and have gotten a few days of good, solid work in before the kids go back to school.
With several key players lost to graduation from last years playoff team, Clay says he has already seen several players stepping up and doing a good job of filling those roles.
The Vandals will start their season on the road August 30 at Gillespie and will travel to Carlinville during Week Two before playing their home opener on September 13 against Staunton.
